At The Matthews House, our mission to support youth and young adults goes beyond programming—it extends to creating a welcoming, nurturing environment where everyone feels at home. Recently, we had the privilege of hosting a volunteer project with the team from NoCO Style, who brought their dedication, energy, and artistic touch to our House.
The House, which serves as both a day shelter and an after-school haven for youth aged 14-21, became a hub of positive energy as NoCO Style volunteers rolled up their sleeves and brought color to our space. Many of the youth we serve have experienced the complexities of the foster care system, and our goal has always been to offer them stability, comfort, and inspiration. Thanks to NoCO Style’s hard work, our walls now reflect a brighter, more vibrant atmosphere that symbolizes hope and new beginnings.
The team’s enthusiasm was palpable as they painted, shared laughs, and connected with our staff. It was more than just a project—it was a heartfelt effort to contribute to a place that fosters growth, learning, and community. Seeing our space come alive with fresh color reinforced that community support is at the heart of what makes The Matthews House a beacon of empowerment.
We extend our deepest gratitude to NoCO Style for their commitment to our mission and for reminding us that with community support, even the simplest acts, like painting a room, can become acts of profound kindness.
Thank you, NoCO Style, for making our space as vibrant as the spirits of the youth we serve!
