Homework Helpers

Homework Helpers is an after-school program that happens from 3:30-5:30 Monday-Friday. The local school district buses students in grades 2-8 to our two sites. There are approximately 20 students at each site. Students have a healthy snack from the food bank, some free play time, and designated academic/homework time.
Homework Helpers volunteers build positive relationships with the students, supervise, and help students with homework and other academic enrichment activities. Volunteers work one shift per week from 3:30-5:30 at one of the Community Life Centers (Fullana or Genesis Project).

HOST Home Program: This is an opportunity for community members to temporarily house youth and young adults that are going through crisis or in transition. Parents still have access to the youth during this time, but the HOST family serves as a safe and stable place for a youth who is experiencing some type of transition in their life. HOST volunteers must be 21 years of age and must be able to prove their home is a suitable environment before a youth is welcomed in. HOST volunteers are asked to commit anywhere from three weeks to four months.

Due to the diverse population we serve, volunteers are requested for a variety of needs. Join our volunteer-specific mailing list HERE to receive updates on urgent needs and other opportunities not listed on our website.
